WTS International congratulates the 24 members appointed yesterday to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity (ACTE). Appointees to the Advisory Committee are drawn from academia, the private sector, and the transportation industry; and include experts in community engagement, transportation planning, design, research, policy, advocacy, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Appointees include WTS members Flora Castillo, President, Pivot Strategies; Veronica O. Davis, Deputy Director, Houston Public Works; Director, Transportation and Drainage Operations, City of Houston; Diana Mendes, Corporate President for Infrastructure and Mobility Equity, HNTB; and Roger Millar, Secretary, Washington State Department of Transportation.

“These leaders are vital voices in the ongoing work needed to establish a more equitable and accessible transportation system. We are proud to have their voices contributing to this esteemed group, and value their representation and input on gender issues in the sector,” said Sara Stickler, WTS President and CEO.

The Committee was established in May of 2022, and it’s formation was encouraged by WTS International in our June 2023 comments on the USDOT Equity Action Plan update.
