WTS Foundation Board Member & Chapter Leader Joins USDOT

A proud graduate of Rice University and Georgetown University Law Center, Angela is an active alumna of both schools and volunteers with multiple transportation professional organizations such as WTS and COMTO both locally and nationally. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In fact, two of her sorority sisters were present at the swearing-in ceremony, as well as one of her two daughters who held the family Bible as Angela formally accepted her new position.

She has served as the Diversity Chair/Co-Chair for the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of WTS for eight non-consecutive years and was the Chapter’s recipient of the Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award in 2021 and 2011. WTS International also benefitted from her service on the 2022-24 WTS Foundation Board. Her illustrious career includes ensuring civil rights compliance in project procurement and contracting for firms across the nation, as well as consistent advocacy for women and minorities in the transportation industry.

Due to her appointment, Angela will no longer be able to serve on the WTS Foundation Board or as the Diversity Committee Co-Chair during her time with USDOT. When announcing her transition into a new role, she informed other Chapter leaders, “Dallas/Fort Worth will always be my home chapter, and I hope to see you in New Orleans next year!” WTS certainly looks forward to seeing Angie at the Annual Conference and watching her continue to grow and shine professionally.
