WTS Award Applications are Live!

WTS-Rhode Island is seeking nominations in six award categories for our annual chapter awards.

  • Member of the Year Award: The Member of the Year Award nominee is the WTS member who shows extraordinary commitment to the goals and growth of WTS. This member promotes the reputation of WTS within the Transportation industry and revitalizes or expands a WTS Chapter or any of its functions.
  • Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award: The Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award nominee promotes diversity, inclusion and multicultural awareness within their organization, within the Transportation industry or within a project or activity that supports the goals and mission of WTS. The nominee efforts and initiatives facilitate professional opportunities for women and minorities.
  • Woman of the Year Award: The Woman of the Year nominee is a leader in transportation and makes an outstanding contribution to the Transportation industry. The nominee contributes to the advancement of women through programs or opportunities and advances the reputation and credibility of women in transportation.
  • Innovative Transportation Solutions Award: The Innovative Transportation Solutions Award nomination must illustrate the purpose of the initiative, solution, project or policy and the number of women involved. The nomination must exhibit key elements of the project and how the female project manager successfully implemented these elements. The nomination must also show how the female project manager successfully met and overcame challenges and how the project achieved its purpose.
  • Employer of the Year Award: The Employer of the Year Award nominee must support WTS through membership, sponsorship and employee involvement. The nominee’s structure includes women in executive and senior positions leading initiatives. The structure must have career development and succession programs in place advancing women and must continue education programs and professional development support for women and provide internship opportunities supporting women entering the Transportation industry.
  • Honorable Ray LaHood Award: The Honorable Ray LaHood Award nominee must lead by example in advocating for women to compete for key positions. The nominee must contribute to the advancement of women and minorities through programs or opportunities and show outstanding contributions to the Transportation industry.
