For the past ten years I have been an active member of the WTS DC Chapter and I believe it made a great difference in my professional as well as my personal life. When asked how I would explain the purpose of a WTS membership, this is what I shared.

First and foremost, WTS is an excellent forum for professional and personal growth through the opportunities available to all members to engage with professionals at all career levels. It is also a ground for networking opportunities. The numerous events organized throughout my tenure taught me that bringing people together to discuss even the simplest problems in professional development can make a difference in people’s lives. Each such event provided learning opportunities and exposure to role models; women who managed family life while having a rewarding and successful career.

WTS is also a community where we give and receive, where we grow together. It is a community where we take listening better and acceptance of our peers to the next level. Being a member of this organization may help you enhance your discipline and drive. It may help you expand your horizons and define your goals. And it may help you learn about new ways to enhance your career.

As a WTS member you belong in the organization and you learn that belonging also means commitment and discipline. WTS was founded by women who were very serious about their careers and wanted to inspire other women to keep their chins up and prosper in their careers. Let us know what interests you most. We planned a series of events that will engage your curiosity and put you in touch with people who have similar interests as yours.
