Planner II

Grade 25

  

Job Summary: The Planner II position under the overall supervision of Director, Planning and Programming through the Senior Planner conducts analyses relating to transportation planning required by GCRTA.  The primary role of this position is to conduct all GIS research and mapping, development of graphics and statistical analysis required by the Department.  Other activities include data collection & analysis, planning research, report & grant writing on transportation, multi-modal planning, public engagement,  transit oriented development, and real estate.  This position provides support to all leads within the Planning and Programming Department. This position is a combination of field and desk work, and will require the individual to be a self-starter.  Additional duties assigned of a similar nature.

 

Minimum RequirementsApplicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Urban or Transportation Planning, Public Administration, or related area, including significant experience in geographic information systems and statistical data analysis and graphics. Public speaking and community engagement skills are also necessary. A Minimum of 1 year of related work experience. Applicants must demonstrate a passion for community planning and public transportation and demonstrate superior ability to express their ideas through written and verbal communication.
