Executive Women’s Roundtable: Networking Roundtables

By Neela Babu

On October 19, 2023 WTS-DC hosted an in-person Executive Women’s Roundtable (EWR) for the first time since COVID! After a couple years zooming with one another we were excited to bring everyone back together in person. During this workshop, participants spent time sharing experiences and networking with one another spending 15-20 minutes at a given table, each with its own discussion topic, and then rotating to the next. These discussion topics included the following, though attendees branched out into other subjects from here:

  1. Share a problem that is frustrating you at work that you could use some help solving.
  2. What is a strategy that you have used in the last couple of years to help you balance work and life?
  3. What is your current work from home, hybrid, back to the office plan? What are the stressors and have you found any solutions to them?
  4. What strategies have you used to advocate for yourself?
  5. What coaching experiences have you had? What can you share? What coaching do you think would benefit your career?
  6. What TV show/movie have you seen recently that resonated with you regarding work/life balance?

Participants switched topics each round to give them as many opportunities as possible to speak with different people. The conversations involved shared experiences and a lot of laughter. It was clear that the attendees enjoyed conversing with one another and would have continued chatting had it not been time to end each round.

Overall, the attendees had a great time catching up with each other, learning from one another, and having some fun. WTS-DC is grateful to the women who participate in these EWRs, especially our corporate members, Executive Leader members, non-profit associations, and government organizations.

WTS-DC thanks APTA for hosting us in their lovely conference room!
