Event Recap: WTS-Boston Student Chapter Panel on Navigating Post-Grad Life

The WTS Student Chapter of UMass Amherst co-hosted an event with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) student chapter virtually on the topic of Navigating Post-Grad Life: Public vs. Private Jobs, Deciding if a Masters Degree is for you for the UMass Amherst campus.

The event featured three UMass Amherst women graduates, Judith Gibson-Okunieff, a Civil Engineer I at MassDOT, Christina Hodge, a Traffic Engineer at VHB, and Elizabeth Casola, a Transportation/ Civil Engineer at HNTB. The graduates were from both private and public sector and discussed their education and career paths. Panelists also offered advice through their own experiences on the choices to go to graduate school or start working. Additionally, panelists offered advice for taking the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) & Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) Exams. There were a total of 25 participants that were very interested in the topic and asked questions during the Q&A.
