Virtual BoMF 5-Miler

Team WTS participated in the 9th Annual Stroehmann Bakeries Back on My Feet (BoMF) 5-Miler on Saturday, March 28. The event took place here in Philadelphia and 9 other states, raising more than $71,000.

One key factor was different this year… It was a virtual race! What exactly is a virtual race, you wonder?

Well, when COVID-19 tries to break up the group run, the team shifts to an online community…with each member picking her or his own social distance-compliant route. They share everything from records crushed to miles logged…to the smiles on their tired, but exhilarated faces. SEPTA’s Anna Hooven organized the team on behalf of WTS Philadelphia, with support from Kirsten Brown (Urban Engineers), Tamara Nicholson (Burns Engineering), and Emily Pronchik (HNTB).

WTS Philadelphia is a strategic partner with BoMF, a nation-wide organization that combats homelessness through the power of running, community support, essential employment, and housing resources.
