Join us for discussion of Sheryl Sandberg's “Lean In” concept which looks at how women contribute to today's workforce and how they can move forward. In 2010 Sheryl gave a 15 minute TED Women talk that looked at why a smaller percentage of women than men reach the top of their professions, and then offered advice for women on how to “lean in”. She later expanded upon her thoughts and drew upon studies by others to release her book “Lean In” and a companion website for the additional resources. She covers many topics including participation, leadership, success and likability, mentoring, and work-life balance.

Together we will watch the TED talk which started it all “Why we have too few women leaders” and will then discuss what we heard and our ideas for moving forward.

While the event will not require any homework ahead of time, for anyone who can't wait to dig in, here are some useful resources:
• 2010 TED Women Talk - “Why we have too few women leaders” - 15 minutes (We will watch this together on February 17th)
• 2013 TED Women Talk - “So we leaned in... now what?” - 17 minutes
• 2013 Lean In book – Available as book and audiobook (approx 6 hours)
• Lean In website which includes tips, resources, community connections and blog posts.
