2017 Mentoring Program Graduation

Thursday, February 15, 2018 - On Monday, January 22nd 2018, the WTS-GNY Mentoring Program graduated 10 apprentices from its program. It was a wonderful evening and culmination to the yearlong program that helps women in transportation assess and advance in their careers through one-one-one professional guidance from leaders in the transportation community.

2018 Annual Dinner

Thursday, February 15, 2018 - WTS GNY hosted its annual meeting on January 25th at Club 101. As Polina Knaster (HDR), outgoing WTS GNY President, remarked about the W/M/S/DBE Expo that kicked off the evening, it was a "little tight, but cozy." In fact, with just about 275 people in attendance, the dining room also was filled with energy.

Tuesday, January 23, 2018 - On November 8th, the Young Professionals Committee hosted a panel discussion on how our transportation network prepares, prevents and reacts to natural disasters and operational malfunctions. During this Trending Topics event, our panelists touched on topics ranging from working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to rehabilitating transportation systems hit by disasters.

WTS Young Professionals Volunteer Event

Join WTS Young Professionals for its annual volunteer event! In keeping with a transportation theme, we will be helping out at Recycle a Bicycle to fix up old bicycles. Last year, bicycles that WTS Young Professionals refurbished were sent to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. This year, our efforts will prepare the organization for their upcoming women's bike ride in honor of Women's History Month! No experience is needed -- just a willingness to learn.
