A joint initiative with the Dept. of Transportation. Learn More »
At the first WTS Program of the year, Trailblazing: The Circuit Trails, Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission's (DVRPC) Senior Research Analyst Shawn Megill Legendre presented to a packed house.
We have been focused on promoting the development and advancement of women in the transportation industry here in our region since 1979.
This term, we have a fresh new momentum. We are increasing the caliber of our outreach within transportation and throughout the community. Many new initiatives are planned, including the big transportation symposium, to be held in the Fall of 2017, in conjunction with the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and PennDOT. The newly created Past Presidents' Circle will harness the experience of our former leaders, and leverage their legislative connections. Our very own Executive Women's Roundtable will provide a forum for female executives and business owners to collaborate with each other, and will offer our members greater access to mentors and positive role models. We have a new Finance Committee - because it's time to get serious about funding scholarships and professional development seminars. We have also formed strategic partnerships with other professional and charitable associations, such as the March of Dimes' Transportation, Building, and Construction Luncheon and Back on My Feet, a group that seeks to rehabilitate homeless people through the first mode of transportation...walking. At the same time, we will continue to offer excellent programs and networking opportunities to all of our supporters.
Now is a great time to get involved in WTS Philadelphia. Check out our website...and please, do not hesitate to ask for more information or to reach out directly to one of our board members!
