Dear WTS Members and Friends,

Happy New Year!  Welcome to 2017 and a new term for our chapter’s leadership. Before we look forward, I would like to give thanks to those of you who helped make 2016 a great year for WTS Connecticut. I would like to thank our Corporate Sponsors first and foremost – without you, we would not be able to continually enhance the quality of our programs year to year.  In addition, I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Sandra Dumas, our WTS Connecticut Chapter President for 2016. Thank you, Sandy, for your dedication to the chapter this past year and for all that you have done to make it such a great year!

WTS Connecticut is off to a great start having completed our strategic planning session on January 19th. Many of our volunteers have decided to continue their reign and we are lucky enough to have new volunteers that, without a doubt, will bring fresh ideas to the table.

We have expanded our programs this year and our Leadership Committee already has an array of professional development sessions in the planning stages. All of our programs are possible due to our loyal corporate sponsors and I would like to start off my term sincerely thanking you.

The opportunity to assume the chapter presidency is an honor and I look forward to a successful year with the help of the new Executive Board. I cannot say enough great things about Bonnie, Becca and Alicia. Their support will be integral to achieving the goals laid out for 2017.

We are looking forward to numerous Lunch and Learns, our Annual Awards Dinner in April, our Summer and Winter Socials, the Transportation Mini Series in October and our 25th Anniversary Gala in November.  Stay tuned for more information on these events.

Anniversaries also provide a good opportunity for looking ahead and this year the WTS Connecticut Chapter will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary! I am excited to look back at some of the people and accomplishments that have made our chapter what it is today, and I also look forward to seeing what new things we can do in 2017 and beyond with our membership and sponsor’s support.

Looking forward to a great 2017!
Krista Kenney
