The WTS-Wisconsin chapter celebrated 30 years of advancing women in transportation with a reception at the Madison Public Library on October 9, 2019. United States Senator Tammy Baldwin and Wisconsin Department of Transportation Assistant Deputy Secretary Joel Nielsestuen were the Keynote speakers.  They discussed the importance of transportation and infrastructure on our society and quality of life, as well as the role that women have played to improve the industry.

Maggie Walsh, WTS International Chair, kicked off the event by speaking about the importance of the WTS mission and upcoming initiatives. April Rai, WTS International Director, attended to celebrate the chapter’s success and learn how it can be replicated.

“The high caliber keynote speakers and robust attendance of the event speaks to the commitment of members and leadership of WTS-Wisconsin. They exemplify the power and long-enduring qualities of our chapters,” Rai said.

“It was an exciting evening and we’re proud of all that our chapter has accomplished over the years,” Alexandria Motl, WTS-Wisconsin President said, “Thanks to our sponsors, members, current and past board members, and colleagues for their support of the event and for their continued support of our chapter overall.”
