WTS Seeks Finance Manager

WTS International is seeking a seasoned individual to act as Finance Manager to WTS International and WTS Foundation. As part of the WTS International team, this position reports to the President/CEO and is responsible for managing all day-to-day financial activities of WTS, while serving as the primary financial liaison to internal and external stakeholders.

REPORTS TO:  WTS International President/CEO

STATUS: Non-Exempt

Summary:

Serving as the full charge accountant for the Association and Foundation, this position is responsible for performing all accounting functions. The incumbent must have extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices, as they relate to non-profit organizations, including AR, AP, bank reconciliations, month-end financial statements, preparation and monitoring of Association and Foundation budgets, and monitoring cash flow projections.  Experience in grant management, cash flow projections, and financial analysis as well as a strong understanding and excellent knowledge of computer accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite is also required.

On a management and strategy level, this position partners with the CEO in financial planning activities. Additionally, the Finance Manager assists in the design, implementation, and documentation of policies and procedures that meet the needs organization and investigates opportunities for improving and further automating existing accounting, budgeting and recording systems, and recommends improvements to current financial strategies of the Association.

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Actively strives for continuous improvements in processes to increase the effectiveness of the Finance Department.
• Oversees annual financial audit, general ledger maintenance, and recording of financial transactions.
• Develops, maintains, and communicates financial policies, systems, and procedures to ensure the accurate processing of financial transactions.
• Prepares financial reports and analysis for presentation to the Treasurer, CEO, Board of Directors, and the Finance and Audit Committee.
• Assists CEO with oversight of risk management portfolio.
• Manages all association cash reserves and short-term cash needs.
• Ensures accurate processing of payments from all sources including credit card payments and reconciliation of batches.
• Manages necessary government reporting, including 1099’s and IRS 990. Prepares audit schedules and provide support for the annual audit process.
• Creates timely reports and distribute monthly financial statements. 
• Reconciles month-end accounting.
• Maintains and performs the electronic transaction processes, serve as primary point of contact for the Association’s Paypal account.
• Monitors and reviews event budgets and prepare reports.
• Maintains and upgrades accounting-related software systems.
• Serve as back-up support for Membership and Operations Department with data management related to members’ financial and related records.
• Performs all other reasonably related duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or other equivalent experience.
• Three years minimum, relevant work experience including financial accounting controls, processes and procedures, preferably in a non-profit environment.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with QuickBooks and Abila or other CRM database, must be comfortable with pulling advanced queries and reports on a regular basis.
• Strong proficiency with database systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service orientation, and excellent telephone etiquette.
• Must have demonstrated experience in monitoring and reviewing event budgets and preparing reports.
• Strong problem solving skills, work ethic, organizational skills, attention to detail, decision-making skills, and ability to work with others.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in managing goals through collaboration and teamwork.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.
• Must have a great sense of humor!
