 Join colleagues and friends at the Annual Meeting and Dinner at the Old Mill Inn to support the WTS Toronto Area Chapter. The Annual Meeting and Dinner is the largest event of the year for the WTS Toronto Area Chapter. Occurring annually in the Fall, it is a great opportunity to reflect and celebrate achievements in the transit industry as the year comes to the close. 2019 will mark the 9th Annual Meeting and Dinner.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

 

Carolyn Flowers

Managing Principal

InfraStrategies LLC

 

 

Carolyn Flowers is a transit expert with more than 25 years of industry experience including the following leadership roles:

  • Acting Administrator, Federal Transit Administration/DOT and national lead of public transit grants, funding and oversight.
  • Chief Executive Officer and Director of Public Transit, Charlotte Area Transit System for bus and rail transit planning and operations.
  • Nineteen years with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority in progressive roles culminating in her appointment as Chief Operations Officer, responsible for developing and managing their $3-billion operating and capital budget.

She is an active member of several industry organizations including CUTA, APTA, COMTO and TCRB, and currently serves on the WTS International Board of Directors. As a strong proponent of mentorship and career growth, Carolyn has been a mentor with WTS, APTA and COMTO, and a speaker at the WTS leadership development program. She is passionate about making a difference for women in transportation and is dedicated to supporting their career advancement through guidance, mentoring and the provision of effective professional development programs. Over the course of her career, Carolyn has been recognized for her achievements and on-going commitment to the transportation industry by the following organizations:

  • Tom Bradley Alumnus of the Year by the UCLA Black Alumni Association, an award named for the first African-American Mayor of Los Angeles who was a champion of public transportation (2007)
  • Woman of the Year by the Los Angeles Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (2008)
  • Named by the UCLA Anderson School of Business as one of the 75 Most Inspirational Graduates in their first 100 years (2010)
  • Friends of Eno Award for her volunteer service to workforce development programs from the Eno Foundation (2018)

Carolyn joined InfraSrategies, LLC in February 2019 as Managing Principal/Partner for strategic advisory consulting in transit and rail. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President at AECOM, leading their public transit business in the United States and Canada.
