The Toronto Area Chapter has established several committees
and selected leaders to manage Chapter activities.

The Membership Committee’s objective is to work with WTS International to track, manage and welcome new and returning members to the Toronto Area Chapter. The Membership Committee is also responsible for helping to solve any challenges that arise with membership.

Andrea is an Associate Director for Intelligent Systems at IBI Group, and has been involved in WTS since 2015. She has been delivering new mobility projects with IBI Group for over 17 years, from the launch of London UK’s central Congestion Charging Scheme to helping Metrolinx deliver its new integrated network operations centre in Toronto.  Andrea was involved in transportation systems delivery for the London 2012 Games and Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games.  She brings a high level of contagious energy to complete projects on time and within budget. Andrea's favourite part of her role as WTS membership chair is meeting new people.

Agata is a Consultant at IBI Group. She brings over 10 years of experience from various areas including finance, administration, customer services and transportation operations, of which 5 years include control centre work in the UK and Canada. Agata leads the coordination of projects from inception to completion, ensuring a comprehensive and detailed auditable trail for deliverables and is responsible for the document control and quality processes. She is a passionate, customer service oriented individual, bringing enthusiasm and hard work to all that she does. In her spare time, Agata enjoys singing, dancing and learning Spanish.

The Mentoring Committee is responsible for the development and facilitation of the mentoring program. The committee will collect feedback from participants throughout the program which will be used to tailor and improve the program to best serve WTS members. The committee communicates with other WTS chapter committees to share ideas, materials and lessons learned.

Karen Cooper is a Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer in the AECOM Sustainable Transportation Group with over 19 years of experience in a variety of highway and roadway projects. She has volunteered with the WTS Mentorship Committee for the past two years and mentored an engineer through The Mentoring Partnership.

Karen has been a Toastmaster for the past 15 years and was a founding member of the AECOM Richmond Hill Corporate Club, assisting members to develop their presentation and leadership skills.

The Scholarship Committee was assembled in 2014 to create, manage, and implement a process for selecting, awarding and disbursing scholarship funds on behalf of the Chapter. The Committee has recommended to the Board the adoption of a Scholarship process which defines the general nature of scholarship process in accordance with WTS International practice, defines the Sponsor-specific parameters for an individual Scholarship, identifies the capture area and fields of studies and other eligibility requirements for candidates and identifies the evaluation and selection criteria.
Cathy is the Business Development Manager for Canada at Parsons. Cathy has nearly 20 years of project management, procurement and business development experience derived from working with public sector clients developing procurements and with private sector clients in the design, development and delivery of rail systems.
The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for spearheading the efforts to obtain financial support for the Toronto Area Chapter for special events, professional development activities and the WTS Scholarship Program. The Sponsorship Committee responsibilities include establishing the goals and developing the Annual Sponsorship Program; coordinating with the transportation industry organizations to solicit and confirm contribution levels; and coordinating with other Chapter committees to ensure that Corporate Sponsors are recognized at all events and communications.
