Marcia Ferranto to Receive COMTO Honor

Marcia Ferranto, WTS International President and CEO, will be honored at the fourth annual Women Who Move the Nation awards by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO).

Twelve women from all sectors of the transportation industry will be recognized and saluted for their contributions to the industry on March 11, 2015, at the annual breakfast awards ceremony Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation (CWWMN) from 8:00am – 11:00am at the J.W. Marriott Hotel, 1331 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC 20004.

Several of the other honorees are also WTS members and supporters. The full list of 2015 Women Who Move the Nation honorees are:

·  Marcia Ferranto, President and CEO, WTS International for Advocacy

·  Chellie Cameron, Chief Operating Officer, Philadelphia International Airport for Aviation

·  The Honorable Eleanor Holmes Norton, Congresswoman District of Columbia for Legislator

·   Deborah Hersman, President and CEO, National Safety Council for Multimodalism

·   Cynthia Jones-Parks, President and CEO, Jones-Worley Communications, for Private Sector

·   Dr. Joy Rohadfox, President and CEO, Rohadfox Construction Control Services Corporation forPrivate Sector

·   Ann Dawson-August, Executive Director, Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority for Public Transportation

·  Ysela Llort, Director, Miami-Dade Transit for Public Transportation

·  Carolyn Flowers, Senior Advisor Federal Transit Administration for Public Transportation/Federal

·  Polly Trottenberg, Commissioner, New York City Department of Transportation for State Government

·  Senator Barbara Boxer, U.S. Senate, California (D) for Lifetime Achievement

·  Paralee Shivers, Professor, Speech Division, Houston Community College for the Shirley A. DeLibero Woman Who Moves the Nation

COMTO inaugurated its Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation awards in 2012, starting a new tradition of recognizing the accomplishments and influence of today's outstanding women in transportation. This year's list of recipients brings the total number of honorees to 46. As in years past, these leaders represent a broad cross section of the industry.
