KCITE & WTS Joint July Chapter Meeting

11:30 AM - 01:00 PM Central Standard Time

Topic: Automated & Connected Vehicles

Topic: Automated & Connected Vehicles
Imagine fewer cars on our roadways, each remaining vehicle simultaneously serving as a personal vehicle … a taxi cab … public transit…and a delivery vehicle. Picture wirelessly connected truck trains seamlessly traveling down our highways, delivering goods and services safely and efficiently. What will the transportation system, your job, and your commute look like then? What actions, policies and decisions will go by the wayside and what new ones will take their place? The need to wrestle with these and hundreds, if not thousands, of potential implications for transportation agencies and the traveling public are being driven by the potential implementation of fully autonomous and connected vehicles (AV/CV) within the next decade.

On July 9th, representatives from HNTB Corporation, including Kip Strauss, Transportation Planning Department Manager, Chuck Miller, Midwest Region ITS Practice Leader, and Michael DeMent, Associate V.P., Engagement & Communication Strategies,  will help us explore what AV/CV means, and overview the potential issues that will confront us all in the years ahead as AV/CV vehicles affect virtually every aspect of transportation.

Meeting Fees:
Meeting Lunch is $20 for all attendees

Payment: KCITE accepts payment by credit card, cash or check.
