GPI - Internally Promoting Diversity and Inclusion in Support of the WTS Mission
Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is excited about its new corporate partnership with WTS International. A proud sponsor of several local WTS chapters as well for many years, GPI’s corporate partnership enhances its support of WTS International and strengthens its commitment to its mission of building the future of transportation through the attraction, retention, and professional advancement of women, not only at GPI, but on a more global level as well.
Founded in 1966, GPI is a leading engineering consulting firm that specializes in the innovative design and construction of transportation infrastructure and building projects. Its experts provide comprehensive engineering, design, planning, construction management, and inspection services to a wide variety of government agencies, municipalities, institutions, industries, corporations, private organizations and developers.
GPI’s visionary philosophy, “Many Talents, One Firm,” is focused mainly upon what truly makes it unique–its diverse staff of both men and women who serve clients, and one another as design professionals, technical specialists, administrators and support staff, motivated by the desire to succeed. GPI’s values of teamwork, quality, and commitment set it apart and are the key elements for its growth and continued success.
GPI’s support of WTS reinforces among its staff that GPI is committed to diversity in the workplace and that the role of women in transportation is crucial to the sustainability of its global infrastructure and the transportation industry as a whole. GPI recognizes that programs that tap the collective abilities of its most experienced, seasoned professionals are instrumental in shaping the next generation of leaders. WTS provides exceptional opportunities in education, including leadership training, scholarship opportunities, and access to exclusive tools while providing exposure to critical and timely transportation issues.
GPI is also extremely proud and supportive of Rebecca Williamson, P.E., an Assistant Vice President at GPI, who is currently serving as the President of the WTS Boston Chapter, one the largest WTS chapters. Williamson has been extremely active in WTS Boston for over 16 years, holding various committee and board positions throughout the years and has been instrumental in encouraging numerous women in the GPI organization to not only join, but become actively involved with WTS. She has also participated in various WTS International programs and events, including the WTS Leadership Program, Chapter Leadership Training, and the Annual Conferences. And she strongly encourages GPI’s corporate partnership. “As GPI continues to grow, adding new disciplines each year, we are excited to partner with WTS International and their goals of expanding opportunities for women in the transportation industry through professional development, mentoring, and strategic positioning of women,” said Williamson.
As GPI enters its 51st year of business, the company has shown tremendous growth in many facets, including the number of diverse individuals, many of them women, taking on leadership roles and mentoring positions. For more information, visit http://www.gpinet.com.
