Innovations in Intelligent Transportation Systems for the San Diego Region

The San Diego Region continues to be one of the nation’s leading testbedsfor the introduction of new transportation technologies to enhance travel and goods movements.  Join us for an informative and interesting workshop and learn about innovations in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) being implemented here!

Meet Our Guest Speakers:
James Dreisbach-Towle is SANDAG’s Technology Program Manager in its ITSDivision.  He focuses on systems that maximize the efficiency of existing transportation infrastructure including freeways, local streets, and transit.  Some of the projects that James and the ITS team at SANDAG have developed in the last 12 years include a regional transit smart card payment platform, advanced traveler information through 511, transit management systems, and new train control systems .

Ken Voss is a Senior Vice President of Streetline, Inc., a leader in the development of smart parking solutions.  Streetlineprovides improved efficiency of parking operations, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and other benefits to its clients in Europe and now in America.

Scott Shogan is a Vice President at Parsons Brinckerhoff and their Central Region Traffic Engineering Manager, with experience in traffic operations, ITS, and transportation planning. Scott worked on the federally funded Connected Vehicles Safety Pilot Program in Ann Arbor, MI.

Peter Thompson  is SANDAG’s Senior Technology Program Analyst and is the Project Manager for the I-15 Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) program.  The I-15 corridor is one of two pilot sites in the nation to develop, implement and operate an ICM system.Mike Washkowiak works as a Project Manager for Kimley-Horn, and leads the consultant team providing SANDAG with program management support on the Integrated Corridor Management effort.
