The WTS Advancing Women in Transportation student chapter at the University of Florida is hosting their annual signature event, the WTS Transportation Symposium, on November 12, 2013, from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Arredondo Room located in the Reitz Union on the UF campus. This year’s topic is on “Communication between Women and Men in the Workplace”. WTS invites you to hear and interact with professional men and women guest panelists from the private, public and academic sectors who will be sharing their experiences on this topic and offering advice to students. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists during the Q&A session. This is a great opportunity to network.

Invited guests represent companies, agencies and institutions such as: Norfolk Southern, specializing in rail, it is one of the nation’s premier transportation companies; Flour, an engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance (EPCM), and project management company; Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), which has the responsibility of coordinating, planning and developing the multimodal transportation system in the state of Florida; and the College of Engineering, ranked 18th in public institutions in the U.S. and providing world-class programs in engineering education, research and service. The Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Angela Lindner, an engineer herself, will be one of the guest panelists.

A reception will follow the main event, so please RSVP by November 5th to Cody Impton at codyimpton@ufl.edu.

For more information, please feel free to contact Kristin Schneider, WTS Student Chapter President at kschneider13@ufl.edu or Cody Impton.
