BBBS STEM Advisory Committee
Big Brothers Big Sisters of SW Idaho has been matching children in the Treasure Valley with mentors for over 40 years. The results of these mentoring relationships are nothing short of life changing for the children and volunteers that make up the 'Bigs" and 'Littles' of this program.
Julie Bayard, STEM Lead and Match Support Specialist with BBBS will share just how this long standing, high impact program works and will fill us in on what has been happening in both the School Site and Community based programs. Julie will also provide a sneak peek of some new and exciting things that are happening with Big Brothers Big Sisters, including our Women in STEM program.
We believe that matching girls with Big Sisters who are currently working in STEM related careers will help those Little Sisters see that a similar career is a possibility for their own futures.  In addition, the Big Sister will act as a role model during these formidable years and we believe this long-term relationship will increase the number of young women pursuing STEM careers.
If you have ever had a mentor and if you believe that all children deserve the right to have their best possible future, we encourage you to come and learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters to see just how you can help each child in our community achieve success.
