WTS September Lunch Program –Seattle Waterfront and Viaduct Update

Please join us for a presentation and discussion on the major changes for Seattle’s Waterfront. After the new State Route 99 tunnel opens to drivers, the Alaskan Way Viaduct along Seattle's waterfront will be demolished, allowing for the creation of a new surface street and other Waterfront projects.

The redevelopment potential is being managed through Waterfront Seattle, a multi-year program to rebuild Seattle’s waterfront following the removal of the Alaskan Way Viaduct. The Program spans from Pioneer Square to Belltown and includes a rebuilt Elliott Bay Seawall, a new surface street providing access to and from downtown, and new parks, paths, and access to Elliott Bay. Led by the City of Seattle's Office of the Waterfront, the Program focuses on working closely with civic leaders, stakeholders and the broader Seattle public to create a "Waterfront for All."

Representatives from the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) and Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will update us on the progress and current state of the Viaduct and Waterfront projects.

Please join us for what promises to be an interesting and engaging lunch program.
