WTS NC Triangle - Future City Competition 2019

All Day Event

McKimmon Center
1101 Gorman St
Raleigh , NC , 27610

WTS - NC Triangle

encourages you to support the

NC Future City Regional Competition!

It is that time of year again -- the Future City competition is well under way, and competition day is quickly approaching!  In order to ensure competition day runs smoothly, we need some wonderful judges, such as yourselves!  The time commitment is only about 4 hours, 8am to 12pm, on Sunday, January 13th at the McKimmon Center at NC State.  You will have the opportunity to judge some incredibly creative presentations by 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams, as well as the physical models that they have created for their future cities.

In addition to the commitment on competition day, we ask that you attend one of two training sessions covering judging responsibilities and other important details about competition day. These sessions will be offered in the evenings first of January. After your judging responsibilities the morning of the 20th, we invite you to stay for lunch and the final presentations from the top four teams in the afternoon.

This year’s theme is “Powering Our Future” and centers on designing an electrical grid that can withstand and recover from a natural disaster. The winning team for the North Carolina Regional Competition will compete at Nationals in Washington, DC during President’s Day weekend.  Learn more about Future City at www.futurecity.org.

Future City is excited to announce that at this years competition our guest speaker will be the North Carolina Lt. Governor Dan Forest. As always, please pass along this information to any colleagues you believe may be interested!

Please let us know if you can join us this year. To confirm your commitment, please complete the following form no later than Friday, December 21th.
