Helping us celebrate is Cynthia Newsome. An award-winning journalist on NBC 41 Action News, Ms. Newsome is also the founder of Awesome Ambitions, which is a program for high school girls in the Kansas City Public School District. In its 21st year, Awesome Ambitions inspires these girls to set and achieve positive goals for their health, education and careers. 

The WTS Greater Kansas City Chapter takes great pride in recognizing individuals who have made outstanding achievements. These awards honor our colleagues in the transportation field who have made incredible contributions to the WTS mission, regional projects, programs and policies and the transportation industry by creating new opportunities and advancing the careers of women and minorities in transportation.

This year, we're excited to honor the following scholarship and award winners:

Members of the Year: Kimberly Robinett and Allison Bruner, both of TREKK Design Group

Woman of the Year: Davonna Moore, KDOT

Employer of the Year: TREKK Design Group

Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award: Ozzy Bravo, Terracon

Helene M. Overly Graduate Scholarship: Kaitlyn Service, University of Kansas 

Sharon D. Banks Undergradute Scholarship: Adeyoyin Imam, University of Kansas
