WTS June Reading Group Meeting: Human Transit
Please join for some stimulating conversation and light snacks as we discuss the next reading group material, Human Transit. We will also have some attendees from transit service planning at King County Metro joining in on the discussion!

Please note that due to the high possibility of beautiful weather in June, we will change our meeting location to the outdoor patio of Joelle’s Expresso Café in Safeco Plaza. There is indoor seating if it does rain.

Public transit is a powerful tool for addressing a huge range of urban problems, including traffic congestion and economic development as well as climate change. But while many people support transit in the abstract, it's often hard to channel that support into good transit investments.

Human Transit simplifies transit to focus on the underlying geometry that all transit technologies share. The book explains the fundamental geometry of transit that shapes successful systems; the process for fitting technology to a particular community; and the local choices that lead to transit-friendly development.

There is a Human Transit Blog, which is a great way to learn current issues and to familiarize yourselves with Human Transit’s ideas if you don’t have time to read the book.

Where: The outdoor patio of Joelle’s Espresso Café, Safeco Plaza, 1001 4th Ave #510, Seattle WA 98154

When: Thursday June 21 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

Cost: Free! Feel free to bring your lunch. Coffee and snacks are provided.
