The Future of Transportation: National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is one of Colorado's impressive assets, focusing on creative answers to today's energy challenges. From fundamental science and energy analysis to validating new products for the commercial market, NREL researchers are dedicated to transforming the way the world uses energy.

Come learn about the innovative initiatives and work at NREL. Topics will include:

  • Sustainable Transportation and TDM initiatives including the opportunities and challenges trying to move the needle and operate as a "living laboratory" for advanced transportation technologies.
  • International Transportation Energy Planning including NREL's tools, resources, and analyses to support the adoption of new transportation technologies into appropriate markets.
  • Plugin Electric Vehicle User Survey
  • Clean Cities Program and the Alternative Fuels Data Center, which advance the nation's economic, environmental, and energy security by supporting local actions to reduce petroleum use in transportation

Lissa Meyers (Transportation Manager, Sustainable NREL), Margo Melendez(Manager, Market Transformation/Principal Research Engineer) and Caley Johnson(Fuel and Vehicle Market Analyst) will illuminate how NREL's efforts have implications for the future transportation.
