Guest Speakers

Stacey Donahoe and Jeffrey Shrimpton,
MassDOT Senior Historic Resource Specialists

Continuing a series of brown bag seminars in collaboration with MassDOT University, WTS-Boston welcomes Stacey Donahoe and Jeffrey Shrimpton of MassDOT’s Environmental Section for an informative presentation on cultural resources review processesas they relate to transportation infrastructure projects, including compliance with state and federal review procedures, and consultation with local historical commissions and Tribal entities.

This workshop is the third of a series providing in-depth discussion on focused topics in the realm of environmental permitting relative to transportation facilities.  The series was conceived as a follow-up to a brown bag luncheon held in 2012 that provided a broad overview of environmental permitting for roadway and bridge projects.  This series consists of four sessions: Environmental Policy and Public Review (MEPA/NEPA - presented in May of 2013); Natural Resources and Regulatory Permitting (presented in November of 2013); Cultural Resources Review (the current topic), and Stormwater and Water Quality Best Management Practices (to be held in March 2014).  Each session is designed to provide a basic overview of the topic at hand.  They are geared toward civil/structural engineers and support personnel in the transportation industry who have little or no background in environmental permitting.
