Astrid Glynn, Rail and Transit Administrator
Massachusetts Department of Transportation

Astrid Glynn serves as Rail and Transit Administrator for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, having been appointed as of June 1, 2015. As one of four administrators within MassDOT, Ms. Glynn oversees the Commonwealth’s fourteen regional transit authorities as well as programs and policies for both freight rail and passenger rail.

Ms. Glynn brings to her position the benefit of her experience as Commissioner of the New York State Department of Transportation as well as her prior service to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as Deputy Secretary at the Executive Office of Transportation (predecessor to MassDOT) and the Office of Commonwealth Development – the office that coordinated the work of the transportation, environment, and housing secretariats. Following her NYDOT service, she co-founded the Transportation Planning Research Group (TPRG) and was engaged in numerous transportation projects throughout the region and the nation.

Long an advocate for strategic investment in transportation infrastructure and services, Ms. Glynn is also an advocate for promoting women in the field of transportation.
