WTS-Boston November Luncheon: Christopher M. Gordon, President of Wynn Design and Development Massac

11:30 AM - 01:15 PM Eastern Standard Time

Discussion on development of Wynn Boston Harbor, a $2.1B resort casino, and its comprehensive transportation improvement program

As President of Wynn Design and Development Massachusetts, Chris Gordon is leading the effort to develop the Wynn Boston Harbor, a $2.1B resort casino on the Mystic River in Everett, Massachusetts. When completed, the project will be the largest private development in the history of the Commonwealth.  Built on former chemical manufacturing site, it will transform the economy and environment of the region by cleaning up a highly contaminated brownfields site and river, developing an iconic Wynn five-star property, and employing 4,000 permanent workers.  At the luncheon, Chris will discuss development of the Wynn Boston Harbor and its comprehensive transportation improvement program.
Chris brings deep technical expertise, a wealth of local knowledge, and a long history of successful project management to this significant endeavor.  Before joining Wynn, Chris served as an advisor and manager on complex capital projects worldwide as President of the Dirigo Group, a consulting practice he founded.  Earlier, as Chief Operating Officer for the Allston Development Group (the real estate development arm of Harvard University), Chris oversaw all aspects of Harvard’s multi-billion-dollar expansion in the Allston section of Boston as well as development projects on the historic Cambridge campus.  He also spent a decade at Massport, serving as director of Capital Programs and Logan Modernization overseeing the successful completion of the $4.4 billion Logan Modernization Project.
A  registered Professional Engineer, with degrees in civil engineering from the University of Maine and MIT, Chris serves as a Lecturer at the MIT Center for Real Estate and the Harvard Business School.  He teaches and writes about complex capital projects with a research focus on project management and infrastructure delivery.  In 2015, Chris received the Engineering Center Education Trust Leadership Award for his Leadership in Economic Development.
