Women in Politics: Setting the Agenda

11:30 AM - 02:00 PM Central Standard Time

Few would disagree that now, more than ever, is the time for women to take their rightful place in leadership and own a fair share of the political power. Female leadership within political parties allows for prioritization of issues such as healthcare, education, economic stability, professional mobility and safety that impact the daily lives of citizens. Yet, getting to the table is still a struggle.

Women make up 51% of the population but are dramatically underrepresented in political leadership where women are 19% of Congress, 24% of state legislators, 12% of governors and 18 % of mayors. What's keeping women out of office?

In the spirit of an organization that advocates the advancing women everywhere, WTS invites you to exchange ideas, understand women’s roles in politics and learn how to be a more effective and engaged citizen.

Moderator Morgan Galli, Communications & Government Relations Coordinator for WSP and former staffer to Senator Dianne Feinstein, will moderate this rare opportunity to bring together the SF Bay Area transportation community with women who make a difference in setting public policy agenda right here in the Bay Area.
