Reception Welcoming New Port of Long Beach Executive Director, Mario Cordero

05:30 PM - 08:00 PM Pacific Standard Time

Welcome Reception
  July 26th
Port of Long Beach
Executive Director
Mario Cordero
In the 21st century, ports equal capital. Whether it's cargo, freight, logistics support, ancillary business, or infrastructure improvements, the Port of Long Beach (POLB) is a lifeblood of commerce, economics, and infrastructure projects for Southern California. And WTS-LA thinks it's important for you to know the new executive director of the POLB on a first-name basis. To make that happen, WTS-LA will introduce and honor newly appointed POLB executive director Mario Cordero in an evening reception on Wednesday, July 26 at the Westin Long Beach.
An international maritime leader, former federal maritime official, former Long Beach Harbor commissioner, attorney, and Long Beach resident, POLB executive director Mario Cordero brings a wealth and depth of diverse experience to leading the port. And this could not be a more crucial time for such expertise. More than $180 billion worth of trade moves through the port yearly. More than 30,000 jobs directly rely on the port. More than 316,000 jobs throughout Southern California indirectly rely on the port. And that's just right now. But the port is strategically planning to enhance its capabilities. So, it will take a firm, strong leader to advance the port during this pivotal moment in time. Join us on July 26 in Long Beach to meet that very person, find out his vision, and get to know him on a first-name basis.
