WTS HRC is excited to feature, Mr. Jay Neider, Director Megaprojects VDOT Hampton Roads District, at its April Professional Speaker Series Luncheon. Mr. Neider will discuss the largest Public-Private Partnership currently in the Commonwealth of Virginia, The Elizabeth River Tunnels (ERT) Project.

Join us as guest speaker, Mr Jay Neider, dicusses the largest Public-Private Partnership currently in the Commonwealth of Virginia, The Elizabeth River Tunnels (ERT) Project. The $2.1 billion ERT Project is a top priority for the Hampton Roads region, providing critical transportation infrastructure improvements between the cities of Norfolk and Portsmough.  The Project consists of a new, two-lane immersed tunnel under the Elizabeth River adjacent to the existing Midtown Tunnel to double its capacity, rehabilitation of the existing Midtown Tunnel and the two existing Downtown Tunnels and a new one-mile, elevated four-lane extension of the Martin Luther King Freeway which will connect all four tunnels along with Interstate 264 (I-264) and Virginia Route 164. 

Jay Neider graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in civil engineering and has over 32 yeas of experience working in the transportation engineering industry. Before coming to Virginia, Mr. Neider was the Chief of Local Program Management for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. He joined the VDOT team over a year ago as the Director of Mega Projects. He is responsible for the development, leadership, and most importantly, the on-time andon-budget delivery of the Elizabeth River Tunnels (ERT) Project for Hampton Roads.
