Planning for Millenials - a WTS-KC Tech Break

07:30 AM - 09:00 AM Central Standard Time

Join WTS-KC on July 20th for the next installment of the Tech Break series on millennial planning.

Join WTS-KC on Wednesday, July 20th for the next installment of our Tech Break series, this time focused on millenial planning. Our speakers, Mark Williams and Lauren Reiman, will discuss the influx of Millennials entering adulthood and the workforce.

Mark will focus on generational values and how to foster a work environment that encourages the best from all generations.  He will specifically focus on how Millennials (Generation Y) can learn to work with older generations including Generation X and Baby Boomers. Lauren will discuss her research on how to best communicate and advocate transportation advancements to the new Millennial generation.  She is specifically focused on advocating younger and older generations for public transit.

Lauren Reiman joined HNTB after graduating with honors from the University of Kansas with a master’s degree in transportation planning.  She has a special passion for transit systems and the deep importance of media driven communication and public involvement in planning and developing transportation systems that meet the needs of the community as a whole including those with their own personal transportation as well as those who rely on public transportation. Lauren was also the first recipent of the WTS-KC Helene M. Overly Memorial Graduate Scholarship.

Mark Williams is the Aviation Business Team Leader for Garver. For more than 23 years he has served the aviation industry as a Resident Engineer, Design Engineer and Project Manager at more than 90 airports in 20 States.  In addition to his role in Garver’s Aviation team, Mark assisted in the development of an internal training program to work with supervisors and the younger personnel they mentor to find common characteristics of different generations and promote career development.
