An Underground Trip on WMATA’s “Pickle"

11:30 AM - 01:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

What is green, brand new, and travels at speeds of up to 60mph beneath Washington and its suburbs? Join WTS for a trip on WMATA’s track geometry vehicle, dubbed "The Pickle."

“The Pickle” is a specialized rail car with advanced technology that analyzes the condition of the rail and track infrastructure and will alert Metro to potential defects.

WMATA’s Division Superintendent Brian Poston and his team of experienced technicians will explain the ins and outs of thermal imaging and ultrasonic inspection systems as we embark on an exciting live underground tour of the Red Line. Light refreshments will be provided and attendees are welcome to bring their lunch on board.

Capacity is limited to 15, so please register early!
