Members-Only Zidell Barge Tour

03:30 PM - 05:30 PM Pacific Standard Time

Located in what is now called the South Waterfront district, Zidell Marine has constructed over 300 steel barges since it was founded in 1961. They have offered WTS members an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one of their largest barges, currently under construction. At 422 feet long, and able to carrying 83,000 barrels in its double-hull tank, the Dr. Robert J. Beall barge will haul petroleum from Alaska to California.

Come see one of our economic powerhouse transportation industries, and observe firsthand how Zidell is adapting to the new urban context that surrounds their historic site. Space is limited to 20 WTS members, and four slots have been set aside for PSU student chapter members. (If you are a student chapter member, please register by emailing Alison Tanaka at Tours like this fill quickly, so sign up today if you want to join! Participants must wear closed-toe shoes.
