The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Office of Freight, Logistics and Passenger Operations was recently formed in recognition of the significant role that freight mobility plays as an economic driver for the state. In honor of National Maritime Day and International Trade Month, WTS is presenting those who are leading the vision of freight mobility in Northeast Florida.

A panel discussion led by Northeast Florida Logistics Advisory Group Chair George Gabel, will feature Meredith Dahlrose, FDOT's State Seaport Manager in Tallahassee; Greg Evans, Secretary for FDOT District 2; and Jeff Sheffield, Executive Director for the North Florida Transportation Planning Organization. They will discuss their strategies to better connect, develop and implement a freight planning process that maximizes the use of existing facilities and integrates and coordinates all modes of transportation. They will also discuss how public and private entities can partner to make Jacksonville as profitable and productive as possible in freight logistics. This meeting will also feature Support Our Port, which will share how we can communicate the value of Jacksonville's port to leaders and the broader community.

Support Our Port will bring materials including letters for all attendees as well as provide a brief statement in the opening on how the audience can get involved.
