March Program: Foresthill Road Bridge Presentation and Tour

03:00 PM - 05:30 PM Eastern Standard Time

Please join us on Thursday, March 29 for a presentation about the Foresthill Road Bridge Seismic Retrofit and Paint Project, followed by a tour at the site. Note the special time for the program this month.

RSVP By Registering Here by March 26

Contact Lindsay Juarez, lindsayj@quincyeng.com, if you encounter any problems with registering.

Standing an impressive 730 feet above the North Fork of the American River, the Foresthill Road Bridge is the tallest bridge in California.  The 2,428 foot long steel truss structure was originally built for the Bureau of Reclamation and opened to the public on Labor Day of 1973.

The Foresthill Bridge is currently undergoing an important seismic retrofit and a complete repainting of the structure. This program is offering the opportunity to not only hear from the project team about the unique challenges and solutions encountered during design and construction, but to also get an up-close look at the ongoing work.

Among those who you'll be hearing from are Sherri Berexa, the project manager for Placer County and John Quincy, the project manager for the lead design firm, Quincy Engineering Inc.

Plan on attending the presentation if you'd like to attend the tour, as instructions on how to get to the site, where to park, and important safety notes will be provided.  Please wear appropriate attire and shoes for a construction site tour and don't forget your hard hat and vest!  Those wishing to attend the tour after the presentation will be responsible for their own transportation to the job site (a short, approximately 10 minute drive from the County Office).  As parking may be limited, we encourage carpooling to the site.
