Maine Section ASCE and WTS Maine Chapter Meeting & Presentation

05:00 PM - 07:30 PM Eastern Standard Time

Please join the Maine Section ASCE and WTS – Maine Chapter, for a joint meeting on Thursday, November 20th, featuring Joe Tognoli, Vice President and Chief Bridge Engineer for TY Lin International. Mr. Tognoli will discuss the Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge in San Diego. At 550-feet long, it is one of the longest self-anchored pedestrian bridges in the world.

The Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge, often described as one of the most graceful and unusual pedestrian bridges in the US, crosses Harbor Drive at Park Boulevard in downtown San Diego. It is 550 feet long which makes it one of the longest self-anchored pedestrian bridges in the world. Joe Tognoli currently serves as a Vice President and Principal Bridge Engineer at T.Y. Lin International. Over his 23-year career, Joe has led the design of many award-winning bridge projects including non-conventional structures and dramatic aesthetic designs.
