June Lunch Program: Connect Transit Card

11:30 AM - 01:00 PM Pacific Standard Time

Speaker: Lacey Symons-Holtzen, Associate Planner at the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG)

Please join us for our WTS Sacramento lunch program as we welcome Lacey Symons-Holtzen, an Associate Planner for the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG), to discuss the Sacramento region’s new transit smart card fare payment system, Connect Transit Card.

Have you heard of Clipper Card (Bay Area), the ORCA card (Seattle), or the Oyster Card (London)? The Sacramento region will soon join the ranks of these and many other metropolitan communities in the country and around the world with a state-of-the-art transit smart card fare payment system called Connect Card. The Connect Card provides a more convenient and secure way to pay fares using a plastic, reloadable smart card with an embedded computer chip that can store existing ticket and pass options along with cash fares. The new card will work on Sacramento Regional Transit District bus and light rail, El Dorado Transit, Elk Grove's e-tran, Folsom Stage Line, Roseville Transit, South Sacramento County's SCT/LINK, Yolobus, and Yuba-Sutter Transit.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn about the resourceful use of funding for the project, the unique governance model, and gain insight about the recently completed customer pilot test and roll-out later this year!

Interested in learning more in advance of the luncheon? Find the Connect Card online at www.ConnectTransitCard.com, on Facebook (search "Connect Transit Card"), and on twitter (@Connect_Card).
