July Guest Speaker

Christy Willhite, Capital Metro

Lattes and Leadership is a free event that provides an opportunity to meet with a Central Texas woman leader in an informal setting. There is no pre-set format; Lattes and Leadership was developed to function as a round table with the goal to interact in a relaxed setting and  learn from the speaker about issues such as leadership, career goal setting, lessons learned along the way, navigating the transportation world, and life coaching type elements.

Join WTS in an intimate setting for an in-depth discussion with Christy Willhite from Capital Metro.

Christy is the Government Relations Manager for Capital Metro, where she provides input and insight on the way local, state, and federal affairs impact day to day transit operations and long-range plans.  Christy also oversees the Office of Diversity, DBE and Title VI programs.

Prior to joining the team at Capital Metro, Christy was a Chief Transportation Planner at the Houston-Galveston Area Council where she focused on special studies, like access management, transportation legislative agenda, SH 99 Terms and Conditions, and evacuation planning.

Christy has 19 years of planning experience, most of which is in the public sector with two and half years at URS as well.

Christy has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. She resides in Austin with her husband, Joe Willhite (WSP-Parsons Brinkerhoff), and two children, Emilia (6) and Harper (4).

The WTS – Heart of Texas Chapter is dedicated to the advancement of women in the transportation industry within Central Texas. With the support of over 150 members, Corporate and Agency Partners, our chapter offers numerous professional programs, networking opportunities, and unparalleled access to industry and government leaders within Austin
