July 27: Bridging the Gap - Workforce Initiative Program

07:30 AM - 01:30 PM Pacific Standard Time

WTS-LA will host a half-day on symposium on local workforce initiatives.

WTS Los Angeles wants to lead the discussion about the transportation workorce gap. As an organization committed to strengthening the transportation industry to advancing women’s careers, we are bringing together public agencies, policymakers, researchers, small business leaders, corporate executives, and transportation professionals across the industry to learn and share information about economic and technology trends, existing programs, and the nexus so we can prepare to bridge the workforce gap in transportation.

On Friday, July 27, 2018, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., join us at the Millenium Biltmore as we learn and discuss with:
  • Miguel Cabral, Executive Officer, Diversity and Economic Opportunity, LA Metro
  • Lou Anne Bynum, President, Board of Harbor Commissioners, City of Long Beach
  • Laura Friedman, California State Assemblywoman
  • Marianne Hill, Executive Director, Propel LA-Countywide Strategic Plan, Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation
  • Cynthia Guidry, Planning and Development Group Deputy Executive Director, Los Angeles World Airports

  • Avin Sharma, Director of Labor Relations and Workforce Investment, Port of Los Angeles
  • Rossana D'Antonio, PE, GE, EnvSP, Deputy Director for Development Services and Emergency Management, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works

Together, they will paint a complete picture of where workforce development is heading in the southland. So, if you want to know how California agencies and organizations are gearing up for the workforce future-if you want to know what's going to happen with your job-join us on July 27 for a half-day program that will give you all of the answers.
