Jacksonville Engineers Change the World

10:00 AM - 03:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

On Saturday, April 13, 2013, WTS Northeast Florida, in coordination with University of Florida's Student WTS chapter, is presenting a free, hands-on engineering workshop for girls/young women 13 - 18 years old. The workshop will be held from 10:00am to 3pm, at the University of North Florida (UNF), Building 50 (School of Engineering) in Jacksonville, FL.

This workshop will be an opportunity for girls/young women 13 - 18 years old to join university engineering students and professional women in transportation to learn about career opportunities in engineering; meet student and professional speakers and role models that will share their experiences; and participate in hands-on activities focused on demonstrating engineering concepts.

To register, send an e-mail to
with the following information: student's name; email address; grade; name of school; any health, allergy or medical conditions we should be aware of; and person to contact in case of emergency with phone number.   The registration deadline is end of Thursday, April 11, 2013.  Space is limited to the first 40 girls/young women that register.

Feel free to forward to interested girls/young women and please let me know if you plan on attending.  We are looking for volunteers - women engineers, or others - who are interested in attending the event, helping the students with the activities, speaking about their personal experiences as an engineer, and helping young women to get excited about engineering.

Please contact me with any questions.

Thank you in advance for your support!
