Innovation in Bike & Pedestrian Design

Strap on your helmet and get ready to move! Join us for a light breakfast, followed by a biking tour of some innovative bike & pedestrian designs popping up around Minneapolis.

It's no secret that Minneapolis is one of the best cities for bicycling and walking in the US. Every year, more and more new and innovative bicycle and pedestrian designs are popping up on the city's streets and trails. 

Join WTS Minnesota for a bike tour to highlight some of the newest bicycle and pedestrian facilities in Minneapolis! City of Minneapolis staff will join us for a tour highlighting the following facilities in Northeast and North Minneapolis:

Bluff Street Tunnel under 35W

Dinkytown Greenway

5th Street NE Bicycle Boulevard

Lowry Avenue Bridge

Fremont Ave N Buffered Bike Lanes

Plymouth Avenue Bridge Protected Bike Lanes

Tour details:

8:00 Meet at Central Riverfront Park, along West River Parkway just south of the Plymouth Avenue Bridge - Attendees are encouraged to bike to the event, but parking is available. A light breakfast and refreshments will be served.

8:15 Tour Overview - We'll give a brief overview of the facilites we'll visit, along with bike safety info.

8:30-10:30 Bike Tour - The tour will follow bike trails, bicycle boulevards, and bike lanes and will return to Central Riverfront Park at 10:30 AM. 

Please bring your own bike and helmet. If you do not have your own bike but would like to participate on the tour, check out www.niceridemn.org for the nearest Nice Ride station.

WTS Minnesota has applied for AICP credits for this program.
