Ginger Goodin, a 27-year plus leader in transportation, heads up TTI’s Planning Division and leads their Austin office. A national expert in road pricing, she provides research and technical support to FHWA, TxDOT, CTRMA and other local agencies, and has supported the development of managed lane projects in four states. She chairs the Transportation Research Board’s HOV, HOT, and Managed Lanes Committee.

Ms. Goodin possesses the rare combination of a proficiency in engineering and the abilities of a clear and succinct communicator regarding technical issues. Her ability to see the big picture and stay focused on providing useful data contributes to her success. Ms. Goodin spent 11 years serving the citizens of Austin working in various City departments. For the past 16 years, she has been working to understand traffic congestion, and in recent years, has been tackling one of the most challenging issues in transportation today: a change in the method of assessing transportation user fees to create a stable funding source for transportation improvements including possible mileage-based user fees (MBUF). In 2009, Ms. Goodin initiated and chaired the first annual MBUF Symposium, which has steadily grown in attendance during the past three years.

Ms. Goodin is a hard-driving transportation professional and is widely respected for her knowledge and ability to interact with all audiences. She is often called upon to testify before the State Legislature and is often contacted directly by Members and their staffers. She is also a “go to” person in the TTI organization, known for her ability to organize and stay focused on producing results on technical or organizational matters. Ms. Goodin has actively supported her staff and mentored students working for her as research assistants, which is in addition to her active support as a Girl Scout Leader in her community.

The WTS HOT Chapter honored Ginger Goodin as our 2011 Women of the Year for her excellence in the transportation field and the advancement of women.
