The WTS Pittsburgh Chapter will be hosting its third annual Scholarship Gala and Fundraiser to honor the recipients of the 2019 Molitoris Leadership Scholarship and the 2019 Leadership Legacy Scholarship.


 Enjoy an evening of networking with current and future transportation industry professionals and leaders as we celebrate the success of our local WTS Chapter in its first four years! 


The evening will begin with a Welcome Reception, where you will enjoy

Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails as you participate in a SILENT AUCTION to help raise funds for future WTS scholarships.


 The Welcome Reception will be followed by a plated dinner.

Featured Speaker:

Cheryl Moon-Sirianni - District Executive, PennDOT District 11-0

Cheryl Moon-Sirianni serves as the District Executive for District 11, which covers a three-county Pittsburgh region. As district executive, Moon-Sirianni oversees over $370 million in construction projects, 2,569 miles of roadway, 1,796 bridges, and four tunnels in Allegheny, Beaver, and Lawrence counties. She is responsible for 800 men and women who work in the district.

Moon-Sirianni is a dedicated advocate for diversity in the workplace. Throughout her career, she has focused on professional development and leadership training through involvement with the PennDOT Leadership Academy for Supervisors, AASHTO’s Leadership Academy, and the Leadership Development Institute for Women as well as moderating the Women’s Forums in Engineering, Architecture and Construction over the past four years. Among her many accolades, Moon-Sirianni was also honored with the WTS Pittsburgh Chapter’s 2019 Woman of the Year award. 

Molitoris Leadership Scholarship Recipient:

Elyana HurstElyana Hurst

Winner of the 2019 WTS Pittsburgh Chapter Molitoris Leaderhip Scholarship for Undergraduates is Elyana Hurst, a sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University majoring in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy, with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. Elyana is interested in transportation infrastructure, specifically within and around cities, and hopes to pursue research regarding autonomous vehicles. She is involved in the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers at her university, and she serves as an ambassador for the Engineering & Public Policy department. Elyana aims to pursue a career that allows her to combine her passion for the transportation industry with her knowledge of environmental concerns and the importance of government policies.

Molitoris Leadership Scholarship Recipient

Jeanne BatogJeanne Batog

Winner of the 2019 WTS Pittsburgh Chapter Leadership Legacy Scholarship for Graduates is Jeanne Batog, a second-year graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh, originally from Reading, Pennsylvania. This spring she will receive her M.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation. Jeanne also received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. During her time in Pittsburgh, Jeanne completed several transportation related internships throughout the summer and school year. In addition, as a graduate student, Jeanne was involved in two transportation research projects, as well as serving as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate transportation introduction course and the freshman program course. When Jeanne is not studying, she enjoys horseback riding, trying new restaurants around the city, and cooking.
