WTS-Boston Professional Development/MassDOT University Brown Bag Luncheon Series

11:45 AM - 01:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

Session 2: Tuesday, November 5, 2013

"Regulatory Review of Roadway and Bridge Projects:

Session 2- Natural Resources and Regulatory Permitting”

Guest Speakers
Michael Trepanier, MassDOT Senior Environmental Planner

Susan McArthur, MassDOT Wetlands Permitting Supervisor

Continuing a series of brown bag seminars in collaboration with MassDOT University, WTS-Boston welcomes Michael Trepanier and Susan McArthur of MassDOT’s Environmental Section for an informative presentation on Natural Resources and Regulatory Permitting, including discussion of wetlands and rare species as applicable to transportation infrastructure projects.  This workshop is the second of a series providing in-depth discussion on focused topics in the realm of environmental permitting relative to transportation facilities.  The series was conceived as a follow-up to a brown bag luncheon held in 2012 that provided a broad overview of environmental permitting for roadway and bridge projects.  This series consists of four sessions: Environmental Policy and Public Review (MEPA/NEPA - presented in May of 2013); Natural Resources and Regulatory Permitting (the upcoming topic); Stormwater and Water Quality Best Management Practices; and Cultural and Historic Resources.  Each session is designed to provide a basic overview of the topic at hand.  They are geared toward civil/structural engineers who have little or no background in environmental permitting.

Dates for future sessions have not yet been determined, but are intended to be held roughly six to eight weeks apart.  Please check the WTS website regularly for dates of future sessions.
