Perspectives on Community Engagement with WTS-DC

08:00 AM - 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time

Community_Meeting

The Hamilton Loft
600 14th Street, NW
Washington, DC , 20005

Join WTS-DC as our expert panel takes a look at recent transportation and infrastructure projects in the DMV and offer their stakeholder, media, government agency, and public perspectives on community engagement.

SOLD OUT!

From large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects to the development of local facilities, establishing dialogue and building strong relationships with the public is as important as ever. Communities are more informed and demand transparent and effective processes that enable public and stakeholder involvement in decision-making. Increasingly, public input and participation is expected and, in most cases, demanded at the earliest stages of a project’s design. This is often a dilemma for project managers and failure to get it right can have serious long-term negative impacts -– worthwhile projects can stall due to small, but vocal opposition, or can struggle with negative perceptions stemming from ineffective community relations.

Our expert panel will take a look at recent transportation and infrastructure projects in the DMV and offer their stakeholder, media, government agency, and public perspectives on community engagement -– its importance in relation to project success, what worked, and what could have been done differently.
