Panel: Current Issues of Freight and Energy

08:30 AM - 10:30 AM Eastern Standard Time

truck

Clydes of Gallery Place
707 7th Street, NW
Washington, DC , 20001

Our energy environment is changing dramatically due in part to North American oil and gas development and related opportunities for manufacturing and other industries. These new sources of energy have the potential to allow us to strengthen our relationship with our Canadian allies and achieve North American energy independence. They also have implications for freight in terms of the movement and production of goods.

Our panel, moderated by Leslie Blakey of Blakey & Agnew, will explore the intersection of freight and energy and discuss how the development of these energy products will affect the landscape of freight mobility, while improving its environmental profile. The panel will also consider how rethinking our energy and transportation policies can help strengthen our economies.

The conversation will feature representatives from trucking, railroads, and ports. This panel will take place in concert with the initial discussions regarding the upcoming surface transportation authorization commence, providing an opportune chance to bring stakeholders together to explore the future of freight.
