In 2013, Whitewater Park Boulevard opened and the City of Boise redesignated the surrounding area as Boise's "West End." This new corridor, which now connects Main Street and State Street, has served as an economic catalyst to revitalize the area just west of the Linen District. And plans are in the works for more residential, commercial and mixed-use developments throughout this area.
Our Lunch & Learn on September 28th at the Riverside Hotel features a panel discussion with several of the influential professionals, from both the public and private sectors, who have contributed to the success of Boise's West End and Whitewater Park Boulevard.
-
Dyan Bevins, Capital Projects Manager for the Ada County Highway District will discuss why Whitewater Park Boulevard was designed and constructed, and how it now serves a variety of transportation modes.
-
Kathleen Lacey, Comprehensive Planner for the City of Boise will share the long-term planning vision that has guided development in the West End, including Esther Simplot Park.
-
Mike Brown, Co-President of Local Construct will contribute a perspective from the development community, and discuss his company's plans for future mixed-use residential and commercial projects in downtown Boise.
Registration closes Sept. 24th
